Love Your Gut This Valentine’s Day 💖
The Perfect Gut-Happy Date Night (At Home or With Yourself)
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to mean overindulging, feeling bloated, or waking up the next day wishing you’d made different choices. This year, we’re rethinking date night - one that still feels indulgent and romantic but leaves you feeling good.
Whether you’re celebrating with a partner, friends, or flying solo, here’s how to create the ultimate gut-happy Valentine’s Day date night, from first sip to final wind-down.
Step 1: Set the Mood (and Support Your Gut)
Think cosy, calm, and intentional - because stress and digestion are deeply linked.
Before the food even hits the table:
- Light candles or dim the lights
- Put on a playlist you love
- Put phones away (yes, really)
When we slow down, our digestion works better - so setting the tone is actually part of gut care. Romantic and practical.
Step 2: Build a Gut-Loving Valentine’s Dinner
Nothing says “I love you” like food that loves you back.
For your Valentine’s menu, focus on:
- Fibre-rich plants (vegetables, whole grains, legumes)
- Naturally fermented foods (like kimchi, sauerkraut, or yogurt-based dressings)
- Colour and variety — your gut bacteria thrive on diversity
Think:
- Roasted vegetables with herbs
- A hearty grain bowl
- A simple salad with crunch, acidity, and texture
It’s not about restriction, it’s about choosing foods that help you feel satisfied and comfortable.
Step 3: Dessert, But Make It Gut-Conscious
Valentine’s Day without dessert? Not happening.
Dark chocolate is the sweet spot:
- Rich, indulgent, and satisfying
- Contains antioxidants and compounds that may support beneficial gut bacteria
Gut-friendly tip:
Choose dark chocolate with 70% cacao or higher, and enjoy it slowly — paired with berries, nuts, or even melted into a warm drizzle.
Romance = indulgence without the regret.
Step 4: The Valentine’s Day Bruusta Mocktail Moment
This is where bruusta shines
The bubbles, the ritual, the feeling of celebration - without the gut disruption of alcohol.
Blueberry Crush Mocktail (with Bruusta)
Serves 1–2
What you’ll need
• 1 cup frozen blueberries
• ¾ cup water
• 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon dried rose petals
• Ice
• Bruusta Raspberry or Original Kombucha
Optional Rim
• 2 teaspoons dried rose petals
• 1 lemon wedge
How to make it
1. Make the blueberry syrup
Add frozen blueberries, water, lemon juice, and dried rose petals to a small saucepan.
Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes.
2. Strain & cool
Strain through a sieve, separating the liquid from the solids.
Set aside to cool.
3. Rim the glass (optional but cute)
Run a lemon wedge around the rim of your glass and dip into dried rose petals.
4. Assemble
Add blueberry syrup to your glass.
Fill with ice (hearts if you’re feeling extra).
5. Top with Bruusta
Pour over chilled bruusta Raspberry or Original Kombucha.
6. Stir & enjoy
Give it a gentle stir and sip
Fresh, fruity, fizzy- and zero fuss
Why it works:
You still get the ritual of popping something special, sipping something bubbly, and toasting — but you wake up feeling just as good as you did the night before.
💕 A Final Toast to Love (and Your Gut)
This Valentine’s Day, love doesn’t have to mean excess.
It can mean:
- Nourishing food
- Thoughtful rituals
- Bubbles that make you feel good
- And choosing comfort without compromise
Here’s to a Valentine’s date night that feels indulgent, intentional, and genuinely good for you.
Cheers to love - in all its forms 💖
And cheers to your gut.
